Long weekend loves and healthier giveaway update
I’m a lucky girl. Last night I was taken out to a beautiful Valentine’s dinner at George. The menu was spectacular, perfectly portioned and the most fantastic dessert. I also was treated to a couple of new Lululemon pieces and a selection box of DAVIDs teas. One of the Lulu pieces, the Fun Times Jacket, I think is going to become my new best friend as it looks extremely comfortable. Funnily enough I also bought the boyfriend a v-day gift at Lululemon. Can’t really go wrong with a gift from there I think!
On a completely different note, I truly love this February long weekend. Is such a nice mid-winter treat. Is a great time to catch up with good friends and also fit in some exercise classes you may not normally have the time for. My Family day recommendation would be to grab a spot a Core Studio’s mat/reformer 1 class!

Hockey fan in disguise
Not being a hockey fan I never really thought I would wear this “hockey” hat from Lululemon in public. But on last night’s run I decided to put it on. It just looked rather cozy. As I am also feeling a bit under the weather these days I decided that I needed some extra warmth on my head. I wasn’t sure how the hat would “perform” as it probably isn’t meant to be worn for these purposes, but I’ve never been one to follow rules.
The verdict?
This hat is actually perfect for a cold winter run. I felt nice and toasty throughout my run – loved the ear flaps. Would definitely wear it again. Is also definitely cuter to wear than my running balaclava. I think you can still pick them up at Lululemon – they are made for the “event that is happening soon in BC”.
PS: If you are reading this boyfriend I am still not a Vancouver Canucks fan.

The Run: Spirit Pullover
Loved wearing my latest Lululemon piece on this morning’s run. I saw it last week on another runner and knew I had to have it (she has the lilac). After finishing yesterday’s 5km race my very sweet boyfriend bought it for me. I’m feeling that this is going to be the perfect transition piece for Toronto’s weather – is thick enough to keep warm without having to put on another layer, has a hoodie, built in mittens and a very cute pattern on the back. I got the grey coloured one.
I was torn between this piece and a few others, but decided this one was the most practical for the coming winter months. That said maybe Santa will bring me this.

Gifts for the fitness fanatic
A few ideas on what to get the fitness fanatic in your life. Take note B a lot of these are on my own wishlist!
1. Get the runner in your life a Running Room clinic as a gift. Most of the Running Rooms in Toronto will be starting a new round of clinics in the new year, so there is definitely lots to choose from.
2. Show the person you love some gratitude by getting them the Gratitude Wrap from Lululemon. Guaranteed that they will be showing you some gratitude afterwards! (PS: If you happen to be in BC or Calgary prior to the holidays definitely check out ivivva athletica – no store yet in Toronto, but a gift from this Lululemon spinoff would make any child in your life ecstatic!)
3. Hands down the boutique at 889 Yonge is the best place to pick up anything for the yogi in your life. Whenever I am there I just want to buy everything in the place!
4. A subscription to Best Health magazine – a great Canadian magazine and a great treat to look forward to every month.
5. People into fitness tend to like to eat well (90% of the time!), so why not get them a cooking class as a gift? Culinarium and Relish Culinary would both be great options.

Life is too short for the treadmill
As I was walking by Lululemon today I stopped and paused when I saw their new window display. Yes I was admiring their new line of winter clothing, but I also liked the message they had on the window -
Life is too short for the treadmill.
I would go a step further and add the words “year round” to this sentence. This winter I challenge you to get outside and enjoy some of Toronto’s outdoor winter activities. Whether it be a hike, snowy run or a twirl round on the outdoor skating rink. Guaranteed you will have fun and will deserve that post-activity hot chocolate.
